Rich Runne

Rich Runne started racing in 1969 at the age of 10. Starting out in J Runabout (Racecraft built by Bob Trolian) with a Mercury Mark 5. Rich was not known for having the fastest J runabout. After J runabout Rich started racing ASR (Austin built boat) in 1972. He won ASR National Championship in 1991 and was also inducted into the Hall of Champions that year. He then went onto race 25SSR and won National Champion in Saranac Lake, NY in 1978.

His favorite race was the Marathon Nationals in Michigan. One of his biggest thrills was the 25SSR Enduro race that was held in Dayton, Ohio. A two man team, one hour long race, changing drivers half way through. Rich and his teammate, Tom Nuccio went onto win the race.

Rich raced up until 1994 when his son, Dylan was born and took several years off and in 2000 came back to race CSR and went onto win the CSR National Championship in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, & 2006 and was also inducted in the Hall of Champions several times.

Rich retired in 2007 to dedicate his time to his sons racing career.
